Terms of Use

The rules, responsibilities, limitations, and service conditions that govern access to MoneDash.

August 1, 2026EffectiveAugust 1, 2026Last updated

Development Notice

MoneDash is currently in active development and should not be treated as a live, production, commercially launched service. If you find this page or access the app during this development period, you should not upgrade to Pro, rely on the Service, or use it as the basis for any financial, tax, legal, investment, or operational decision.

Any access during this stage is at your own risk. Features, calculations, subscriptions, billing flows, data, displays, legal text, and security controls may be incomplete, experimental, inaccurate, unavailable, or changed without notice. Stareway Films does not accept responsibility for losses, errors, reliance, data issues, or other consequences arising from use of this development version, except where applicable law does not allow that responsibility to be excluded.

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of MoneDash, its website, web application, portfolio tools, dashboards, reports, integrations, communications, and related services. MoneDash is operated by Stareway Films ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

Before using authenticated portfolio features, you must affirmatively accept the version of these Terms displayed to you and acknowledge the accompanying Privacy Policy. MoneDash may use an unchecked clickwrap control and an "Accept and continue" button to record that action. If you do not agree, do not use MoneDash.

We may keep an audit record of your acceptance, including your account identifier, the Terms and Privacy Policy versions and document hashes presented, the server-recorded date and time, the acceptance-screen version, and limited request metadata. A material update may require you to accept a new version before continuing to use portfolio features. Formatting-only changes do not necessarily require renewed acceptance.

What MoneDash Is

MoneDash is an informational portfolio-tracking and analytics tool. It helps users enter, organize, calculate, visualize, and monitor holdings, transactions, performance, allocations, exchange-rate effects, fees, taxes, dividends, coupon behavior, cash interest, sold positions, real estate valuations and cash flows, and historical portfolio values.

MoneDash is not a broker, custodian, bank, exchange, investment adviser, tax adviser, accountant, lawyer, or official books-and- records system. Your broker, custodian, issuer, bank, accountant, tax records, confirmations, and official statements remain the authoritative sources for assets, transactions, and tax reporting.

Eligibility and Account Security

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use MoneDash. You are responsible for providing accurate account, billing, location, tax, and market-data classification information and for keeping that information current.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account. Do not share credentials, reuse insecure passwords, or permit unauthorized access. Notify us promptly through the support or account channels made available in MoneDash if you suspect unauthorized access.

No Investment or Tax Advice

MoneDash and all data, calculations, charts, alerts, simulations, reports, exports, classifications, and other outputs are provided for general informational and organizational purposes only. Nothing in MoneDash is an offer, solicitation, endorsement, personalized recommendation, suitability determination, or advice to buy, sell, hold, value, or trade any security, digital asset, currency, bond, fund, commodity, property, or other instrument. Property values, cap rates, yields, maps, and acquisition-value estimates are not appraisals, title reports, inspections, or real estate advice.

You alone are responsible for verifying information, assessing risk, obtaining professional advice, and deciding whether and when to act. Investing and trading can result in substantial or total loss. Past performance, calculations, historical snapshots, and simulated results do not guarantee future results.

AI-generated portfolio assessments and news summaries may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, speculative, or based on sources that later change. References to possible effects on a portfolio do not establish causation and are not recommendations, suitability determinations, forecasts, or instructions to trade. Verify every material claim and source independently before relying on it.

Portfolio Data, Valuations, and Calculations

Independent tracking service; no bank or broker connection

MoneDash is an independent, user-directed portfolio-tracking and analytical service. Unless MoneDash expressly states otherwise for a specific feature, MoneDash is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, custodian, clearing agency, transfer agent, payment processor, tax preparer, or accounting service. Except for a relationship expressly disclosed by MoneDash, MoneDash is not sponsored, endorsed, operated by, connected with, or affiliated with any bank, brokerage firm, exchange, custodian, or other financial institution whose name, trademark, security, account type, or data may be displayed through the Service. Any such names or marks are used only to identify the institution, account, or asset selected by the user.

MoneDash does not hold, custody, transmit, or settle your assets; execute, route, cancel, or reverse transactions; or maintain the books and records of your financial accounts. Because the Service is not connected to and does not independently authenticate your bank or brokerage accounts, it ordinarily cannot see or verify the institution's complete execution-level and account-level records.

Portfolio Information is an estimate

The balances, market values, historical values, cost bases, gains and losses, income, returns, allocations, currency effects, projections, simulations, charts, reports, exports, and other calculations shown by MoneDash (collectively, "Portfolio Information") are estimates generated from user-provided information, selected settings, MoneDash calculation rules, and third-party reference data. Portfolio Information is intended to provide a general, approximate view of a portfolio; it is not represented as an exact reconstruction of any actual account or transaction.

A displayed number may contain cents or additional decimal places for readability or computational continuity. The presence of those digits does not mean that the number matches the precision, inputs, or accounting treatment used by your bank, broker, custodian, exchange, tax authority, or other source. Portfolio Information may differ by a few cents, by larger amounts, or, where important information is missing or treated differently, materially.

Why MoneDash values may differ

Differences may result from one or more factors, including, without limitation:

  • User-entered or imported data. Entries may be estimated, rounded, incomplete, duplicated, delayed, entered under the wrong date, asset, account, or currency, or may omit cash movements, transfers, cancellations, corrections, partial fills, reinvestments, or other details. Imported files may map fields differently or contain institution-specific conventions that MoneDash does not recognize.
  • Execution data versus reference data. A transaction may execute through multiple fills, venues, and times, each at a different price. MoneDash may instead use a user-entered price, an end-of-day close, an adjusted close, a daily average, a last trade, a bid, an ask, a midpoint, a net asset value, or another reference price. None of those necessarily equals the actual execution price shown on a confirmation.
  • Trade date, settlement date, and account posting. Banks and brokers may recognize a transaction, cash movement, dividend, fee, or tax on an execution date, settlement date, ex-date, record date, payment date, or posting date. MoneDash may associate the item with a different date or period.
  • Market calendars, cutoffs, and time zones. Exchanges close at different local times; some assets trade nearly continuously or around the clock; weekends and holidays differ by market; and daylight-saving or UTC conversion can move an event into another calendar date. A historical query for the same date may therefore retrieve a different observation.
  • Market-data source and status. Third-party quotations may be delayed, indicative, consolidated, venue-specific, stale, unavailable, estimated, or later corrected. Sources can differ in exchange coverage, ticker mapping, decimal precision, treatment of canceled trades, and identification of the official close.
  • Adjusted and unadjusted prices. Historical prices may be raw, split-adjusted, dividend-adjusted, or total-return adjusted. If a price series and a share-count history do not use compatible adjustments, the reconstructed value or return may be distorted.
  • Foreign-exchange methodology. Currency conversions can differ because of the rate provider, rate timestamp, bid/ask side, daily close or average, direct versus triangulated currency pair, holiday carry-forward, institution spread or markup, conversion fee, settlement timing, and rounding. A reference FX rate is not necessarily the rate at which a broker or bank converted funds.
  • Currency units and quotation conventions. Currencies do not all use the same number of minor units, and some securities may be quoted in subunits such as pence while the account reports pounds. Currency symbols can also be ambiguous. An incorrect unit, pair direction, or decimal scale can create a large difference.
  • Fees, charges, and financing. Commissions, exchange and regulatory fees, custody or platform charges, fund expenses, sales loads, redemption charges, wire fees, FX charges, ADR fees, margin interest, securities-lending income, borrowing costs, and other institution-specific adjustments may be unavailable, entered separately, or treated differently.
  • Taxes and withholding. Gross income may differ from net cash received because of domestic or foreign withholding, backup withholding, tax reclaims, tax credits, estimated taxes, or institution-specific tax adjustments. MoneDash may not know your tax residence, elections, account status, or final tax treatment.
  • Corporate actions and income events. Stock splits, reverse splits, dividends, return of capital, spin-offs, mergers, tender offers, rights, warrants, conversions, symbol or exchange changes, delistings, bankruptcies, redemptions, and dividend reinvestments may be announced, revised, processed, or rounded differently. Cash-in-lieu for fractional entitlements may not be known to MoneDash.
  • Tax lots and cost basis. FIFO, LIFO, average cost, high-cost, specific identification, and broker default methods can assign different basis to the same sale. Wash-sale rules, gifts, inheritances, transfers, return-of-capital adjustments, reinvested distributions, covered versus noncovered lots, and institution corrections can further change basis and realized gain or loss.
  • Performance methodology. Simple return, time-weighted return, money-weighted return, or internal rate of return can legitimately differ. Results also change depending on whether they are gross or net of fees and taxes; whether income is included or reinvested; how external cash flows are timed; which beginning and ending values are used; and how returns are compounded, annualized, or converted between currencies.
  • Asset-specific conventions. Bonds may use clean or dirty prices, accrued interest, par-value scaling, and different day-count conventions. Funds may transact at a later-determined NAV. Cryptoassets may trade at different prices across venues and involve network fees, staking, forks, or airdrops. Real estate may rely on manual or model-based estimates rather than executable market prices.
  • Data revisions and methodology changes. Issuers, exchanges, financial institutions, data vendors, and MoneDash may correct identifiers, prices, FX rates, corporate actions, or historical records after initial publication. MoneDash may also improve or change a formula, mapping, or methodology, causing a current or historical result to change.
  • Technical limitations and errors. Data transmission, parsing, caching, synchronization, software defects, service interruptions, unsupported instruments, identifier conflicts, missing values, and unexpected edge cases may affect Portfolio Information.

Numeric precision, formulas, and rounding

Different programming languages do not make basic mathematics arbitrary, and many software systems use common numerical standards. Nevertheless, systems can represent and process numbers differently. A system may store monetary values as integers in minor units, fixed-point decimals, arbitrary-precision decimals, or binary floating-point numbers. Many decimal fractions cannot be represented exactly in binary floating point, so the stored value is a very close approximation.

Systems may also use different precision limits, rounding modes, intermediate scales, and orders of operation. One system may round every transaction before adding it; another may add values at greater precision and round only the final total. One may round a half-cent away from zero; another may round a tie to the nearest even digit. A database, server, browser, spreadsheet, data vendor, and financial institution can each apply a different combination of those choices. Repeated conversions, percentage calculations, and aggregations can cause small differences to accumulate.

Formula selection is usually more consequential than programming-language choice. Two systems may both calculate correctly but answer different questions—for example, adjusted versus unadjusted performance, gross versus net income, trade-date versus settlement-date cash, FIFO versus specific-lot gain, or time-weighted versus money-weighted return. Display rounding can also hide stored precision, so adding the displayed line items may not reproduce a displayed total.

Not an official record or reconciliation system

MoneDash is not the system of record for any financial account. Portfolio Information is not an account statement, trade confirmation, execution report, settlement record, tax form, appraisal, audited financial statement, proof of ownership, or certification of any balance or transaction. It is not designed for penny-level or execution-level reconciliation and should not be treated as proof that a bank, broker, custodian, or other institution made an error.

For actual balances, holdings, execution prices, filled quantities, transaction times, fees, cash movements, settlement status, tax lots, tax reporting, and other legally or financially operative facts, consult the records issued by the relevant bank, broker, custodian, issuer, exchange, tax authority, or other responsible source (collectively, "Source Records"). Source Records may themselves contain errors and remain subject to your contractual and legal rights, but MoneDash output is not a substitute for reviewing or, when appropriate, challenging those records through the institution's procedures.

Uses for which Portfolio Information is not suitable

You must not use Portfolio Information as the sole or definitive basis for:

  • asserting, proving, refuting, auditing, or reconciling the exact terms or result of a bank, brokerage, custody, exchange, or payment operation;
  • placing, sizing, timing, settling, or canceling a trade or transfer, meeting a margin or collateral requirement, or determining funds available for withdrawal;
  • preparing a tax return, information return, financial statement, regulatory filing, legal claim, insurance claim, estate valuation, audit workpaper, or other document requiring authoritative figures;
  • determining exact cost basis, taxable gain or loss, withholding, tax liability, interest owed, fees owed, or amounts payable or receivable; or
  • making an investment, legal, tax, accounting, or financial decision where an inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete value could cause loss.

MoneDash may be used for general portfolio organization, visibility, education, historical exploration, and approximate analysis, subject to these Terms. Before acting on Portfolio Information, verify the relevant facts with current Source Records and, where appropriate, a qualified financial, tax, accounting, or legal professional.

Your responsibility for inputs and verification

You are responsible for entering, importing, categorizing, and maintaining complete and accurate information; selecting the intended asset, currency, account, date, and calculation settings; reviewing data after imports or edits; and preserving your own Source Records. MoneDash has no duty to discover a missing transaction, incorrect lot, duplicate entry, unsupported corporate action, or other discrepancy unless applicable law expressly requires otherwise.

You should periodically compare MoneDash against Source Records. A difference does not, by itself, establish that MoneDash or the institution is correct or incorrect. It may reflect an input error, omitted item, timing difference, valuation convention, data revision, numerical treatment, or a matter that requires investigation.

What to do when numbers do not match

  1. Check the asset identifier, account, quantity, currency, unit scale, and transaction type.
  2. Compare the execution price and each partial fill—not only the daily closing price—and include commissions, fees, taxes, interest, and cash movements.
  3. Check whether the comparison uses trade date or settlement date, local time or UTC, and raw or adjusted prices.
  4. Check the FX source, timestamp, pair direction, spread, fee, and rounding convention.
  5. Check corporate actions, reinvestments, tax-lot method, withholding, and later corrections.
  6. Use the institution's confirmation, statement, tax form, or other Source Record for any formal inquiry or dispute. Contact the institution promptly if its record appears incorrect or unauthorized.
  7. Report a suspected MoneDash data or calculation issue through the feedback form in Settings or at support@monedash.com, including the relevant asset, date, currency, expected result, and non-sensitive supporting details. Do not send account passwords, full account numbers, or other credentials.

Third-party data; delay, correction, and availability

MoneDash may obtain market, reference, corporate-action, currency, identifier, and other data from third parties. MoneDash does not control and cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, sequence, continued availability, or suitability of third-party data. A third party may delay, suspend, revise, or discontinue data or change its methodology without notice to you. MoneDash may correct, replace, remove, or recalculate Portfolio Information when source data or MoneDash methods change.

No warranty of exactness

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and in addition to the warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability elsewhere in these Terms, MoneDash does not warrant that Portfolio Information will be exact, complete, current, error-free, available at a particular time, or identical to any Source Record or third-party calculation. Any estimate, historical reconstruction, return, simulation, or converted value is provided on an "as available" and informational basis, subject to the assumptions and limitations described in these Terms.

No restriction on non-waivable rights

Nothing in this section excludes, limits, or waives any right, remedy, warranty, duty, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, limited, or waived. Nothing in this section prevents you from reporting suspected unauthorized activity or disputing an institution's record using appropriate Source Records and available contractual, regulatory, or legal procedures. This section states only that MoneDash Portfolio Information is not designed or represented to be an authoritative account record or sufficient, standing alone, to establish the outcome of such a dispute.

Priority and interpretation

If this section conflicts with a product-specific disclosure presented for a MoneDash feature, the disclosure that more specifically describes that feature governs to the extent of the conflict. If a mandatory law gives you greater protection, that law governs. Capitalized terms not defined in this section have the meanings assigned elsewhere in the Terms.

Market Data and Third-Party Information

MoneDash may use information from exchanges, EOD Historical Data (EODHD), issuers, brokers, aggregators, public sources, and other third parties. Market data may be delayed, stale, incomplete, unavailable, adjusted, indicative, or incorrect. Prices may differ from executable prices, official closing prices, broker statements, tax lots, exchange-rate records, or values shown elsewhere.

Data providers may impose additional terms, display requirements, classifications, geographic restrictions, reporting obligations, audit rights, usage limits, and fees. We may modify, restrict, or remove data or features when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, exchange requirements, or provider contracts.

Property address search and map displays include Google Maps features and content. Your use of those features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your Data and Independent Records

You retain your rights in the portfolio information, transaction history, property addresses, descriptions, images, notes, labels, account names, settings, and files that you submit or authorize MoneDash to receive. You grant Stareway Films permission to host, copy, transmit, calculate, transform, display, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and otherwise process that information as reasonably necessary to operate MoneDash and provide the requested features.

You represent that you have the right to submit property addresses, descriptions, and images and that doing so does not violate another person's privacy, copyright, contract, or security. Do not upload access codes, identity documents, images of people without proper authority, or other unnecessary sensitive material.

You must keep independent copies of brokerage statements, confirmations, tax documents, transaction records, portfolio records, and any other information you cannot afford to lose. MoneDash is not your only backup, official tax record, or definitive financial archive.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Paid plans, including MoneDash Pro, renew automatically until canceled. Current plan features, limits, prices, billing intervals, and trial terms are shown at checkout or in the Billing page. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, and Stareway Films does not intend to store full payment-card numbers.

Unless required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout, fees already charged are generally final and nonrefundable. You may cancel automatic renewal through the Billing page or another cancellation method made available in MoneDash. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

Acceptable Use

  • Do not scrape, resell, redistribute, publish, or commercially exploit licensed market data except as expressly permitted.
  • Do not share accounts, evade plan limits, or use automated systems against non-public APIs.
  • Do not use a retail account to provide investment advice, client reporting, managed-account services, or market-data display to third parties.
  • Do not interfere with MoneDash, overload infrastructure, introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities, or bypass technical protections.
  • Do not use MoneDash for fraud, sanctions evasion, market manipulation, insider trading, or any unlawful activity.

Changes, Availability, and Experimental Features

MoneDash is an evolving product. Features, calculations, supported assets, integrations, interfaces, data sources, plan limits, and availability may change, be suspended, or be removed. Some features may be beta, preview, experimental, or incomplete and may contain defects.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, permanent access to any particular feature, or that every calculation, import, export, alert, or report will be accurate, complete, or available at all times.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoneDash is provided "as is," "as available," and "with all faults," without warranties of any kind. Stareway Films disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, security, compatibility, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stareway Films will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; investment or trading losses; lost profits; lost opportunities; loss or corruption of data; or damages arising from reliance on data. The aggregate liability of Stareway Films arising from MoneDash will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the subscription fees you paid for MoneDash during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Privacy and Contact

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy. For support, billing, legal, or privacy questions, contact Stareway Films at support@monedash.com.

We may update these Terms prospectively as the product, vendors, pricing, legal requirements, or operations change. If a change is material, we will provide notice through MoneDash, email, or another reasonable method when required.
